downtown and the waterfront

Today I had the chance to talk with Evan and Myron about Rainier Media... It was SO fun to hang out and get to know them both a little better. I know the Lord has great plans for that company and can't wait to see them. As of now we will continue keeping in touch as changes happen and hopefully they'll soon have a job available for me... So after I went downtown, I came home and grabbed my camera and headed to the water. There are some great little walkways and parks along Ruston way - right on the water front... Want to see the things I saw? I put together this great panorama - but it is very rough so far...

RUSTON PANORAMA

The nine-acre Dickman Mill Park site occupies a significant place in Tacoma's history as a lumber-producing center. The Dickman Lumber Mill operated continuously from the 1890's until 1974. It was the last in a long tradition of lumber mills on Tacoma's "Old Town" waterfront to close down. Following a fire in 1979, the remnants of the mill slowly deteriorated.

So I saw some really cool things when I was down there... besides the beautiful water! I saw a baby seal - which was beached up on some pebbles...

P.S. I met a couple, two high school girls, and a lady during my walk along the shore and all of them asked me why I moved out there and I was able to share with them how excited I am about Newsong - our church - and being a part of a community where the Lord is doing incredible work... And how he has blessed me with a job and a beautiful place to live... Such a great way to share his grace!! SO simple too!

Another fun thing - I saw some people diving down by the wreckage - I guess there's some awesome sea-life down there as well as some really cool artifacts from the fire... Hint hint... Come on out diving friends!! (: thats all...
