i just have to share!
so, i've shut my computer down two times tonight and two times i've restarted... the first to finish watching the commentary of born into brothels and the second to tell YOU that you HAVE to see this movie... guys, it's inexplicable the burst - of emotions - i have in my heart regarding this movie. it makes me cry, fall in love, burst with joy, thankfulness, humility and sorrow all at the same time... i LOVE it. perhaps it's something to do with my passion for photography but i think it's more to do with my love for Jesus broken children - the hopeless ones, the forgotten. i want to be there - to love them. they are marked by so much compassion - these 8 little ones are the rays of sunshine in their desolate streets. ugh. it just thumps everything in my heart and at the same time makes me want to burst. eek! i love love love love love it... please watch it. be affected. check out kids-with-cameras.org - i can hardly contain my heart in this deal!!!!!!!! i wish i could just look in YOUR eyes and shake you and hug you and tell you how EXCITED I AM!!! eek!
there definitely is a strange pull from one emotion to the next regarding this movie and it's impact on my heart. an interesting place to be. on another note, my boss told me today about this ministry that one of the gentlemen in my church is involved with. it's called restore international. ironically enough it is an organization that rescues young women who are stuck in the red light districts. this year there was a group of people from right here in our area that went - it's a very official deal - with all the proper government stuff (i don't know all that goes into it - but very real) to rescue girls/young women - and get them out of their prostitution. blow me away. i had no idea that this - thing - this birth in my heart was so accessible and available here! whoa.
Aren't they beautiful? You just fall in love, don't you. (:

bunny girl! i miss you! i just stopped by your blog after what seems like ages and i've heard that "born into brothels" is pretty intense. have you seen "hotel rwanda"?? that's another movie that is so horrific that everyone should see but that you'll never want to see again. it's sad that it takes such strong media and images to impact us today, but i'm glad that awareness is available at least through these films! i'm going to check it out. i hope the west coast is stellar ;)
Love!

Wait, who are you? I know the organization. They're from here in Tacoma. Thanks for the link though.
