a quiet sunny day in spanaway...

i sit here watching a movie called, bagger something... matt damon, will smith... charlize theron... golfing and more... it was SUCH a beautiful day. i enjoy staying at Brenda's. it's a bit of a drive back to tacoma, but it makes me think of home... i didn't grow up in a culdesac of neighbors - but the openness and scattered farms are familiar. i miss the quietness of the small town - or at least life away from the city. i went over to the neighbors for a barbeque tonight... gerry and patty invited me over to their house. steak, salad and corn on the cob. SO GOOD. it's been SO long since grilling out. and STEAK. i think i'm in love (: it was the best meal i've had in such a long time. last night my friend lindsey and i party hopped... we started out at mandon's - a swimming/diving party. i LOVE it. sean rented some scuba gear so more of us could practice. there is something so freeing about being a "fish" - a whole new world underwater... i'm sure it's even more incredible in the ocean, but the concept of breathing under water is so fascinating. i LOVE it. then it was off to peter and shane's for a rootbeer kegger. very fun and always entertaining. we arrived to some worship and then soon followed a time of hilarious and quite talented rapping... it was a short time there and we scooted out back down to spanaway. i miss my friendship with lindsey... i am excited to see how it progresses. we met back in january - and after deciding to be accountability partners - and our first night of geting to know each other, her mom was in a car accident and died. it was intense and i know it forever changed her life. since returning to tacoma, it has been a rocky road for her. finding herself, grieving, figuring out where she belongs - and also being ransacked by enemy business. and now she moves forward - not letting him rob her of full restoration. it's an exciting road to walk down. i realize that i haven't been the best friend to her these past months - due to self focus - and now there must be a paradigm shift. brian encouraged us to stop waiting and looking for perfect friends and to start seeing each other as if we are whole and restored. it has changed so much. my heart is not as critical. i long for intimate friendships. and realize that i must shift my eyes from myself. anyway, that's a bit of a tangent from the recap of my weekend... anyway, i've enjoyed my time here and the day has been quite restful. there's more on my mind that's for sure, but i must go for now. be blessed.

love you,
bethany
