tuesday

there is none like you
no one else can touch
my heart like You do
I could search
for all eternity long and find
there is none like You

are you searching? do you ever find yourself searching and realize you've been doing it over and over - unintentionally?

last night my roommate tricia and i had SO much fun together... we are currently in a season where it's just the two of us and i am SO excited. we were able to pray about what the time would look like and it is going to be SO fruitful - i can't wait! Jesus gave a fun picture of us moving in unison together - two green frogs "leap frogging" forward. i LOVE it. i had a little burst of laughter when he showed it. (: it's going to be so great though... i am really excited!!

tonight i am going to meet up with people to go putt-putt-ing... (: it should be fun. it's been SOOO beautiful here lately. i LOVE the sunshine... in fact, the weather report on weather.com displayed sunshine for the next few days! a sight i haven't seen! (: very fun... today i went to the new starbucks down the road and sat outside reading, Future Grace by John Piper. i am still plugging away but have a real desire to get back into it these days... right now John is discussing the law and how we need Jesus - to enable us to obey God's commandments... John quotes a verse regarding the people praying for "the future grace of joy and a clean heart and a steadfast spirit; and that God himself would make them willing to do what he commands." i love that. because sometimes i'm just NOT willing. whatever it may be... or that sometimes it would be easier to take the worldly way out and follow your flesh. Jesus, i NEED you. make me willing. what causes us to rebel in this way, John proposes with biblical support that it is a lack of faith in God's future grace/a disbelief in who He said he was and/or his promises. Over and over the Israelites failed to trust that the Lord would give them the promised land... They gave way to fear and then rebellion... "They despised the pleasant land; they did not believe in his Word." interesting. how often do I walk this way? choosing to rebel - follow my own ways, what my own eyes see, and circumstances rather than banking on the TRUTH. which leads me to where i stand... i notice i have neglected time with Jesus lately - especially being in the Word. and it has been detrimental to my thought life. how quickly the enemy comes to knock us down... and we soon resort to our own way of thinking and flesh - to figure things out - and thus walking into sin - whether it is pride or swinging to the other side of self hatred or insignificance... - when if I would stay grounded in the truth, i would be reminded of what i have faith in - and why I trust in Jesus.........

anyway... that's kind of roundabout - what i've been learning and thinking... this book is SO good and i recommend it highly... future grace, john piper. check it out.

more later, k?
