a quiet sunday afternoon...
well friends... it's another week already! i can't believe the days passing by so quickly!
lance is over here visiting traci and we're all just hanging out... it's been a great weekend!! last night was a monthly party at the hilltop house... a half birthday party! (: it was a lot of fun - i got to hang out with a new friend, jackie - we had some good extra time getting some mixin's for bean dip... and then scooted out at 10 to see the movie, guess who. it was SO funny... we had a blast - very spontaneous as well as intentional. such a blessing... i got to talk a bit with amanda - a girl from church. she was living with julie last year when i came to visit... it's funny how the Lord brings things about... friendship...
so how are things for me.... not bad really - the Lord has brought to the surface some practicals about the relationships in which i invest... i have been alerted, again, to how many times i am the strong one in my friendships... i realize it is out of my compassion and "developer"ness that i go down this road... it's really not something i "do" it's who i am... and further is part of my original DNA. but sometimes it's not always appropriate... where is the balance? i've realized how there is some significance and worth tied up in it...
which leads me to a conversation i had with my dear friend rachel yesterday... who am i really? i mean, i know what the Bible says i am... but what am i passionate about - what makes bethany, bethany... or bunny for that matter.
i have been reading this week in 1john. the words' purpose? fellowship with Jesus and with others. how do we maintain or reach that fellowship? simple. truth, living in the light (obedience and under grace), and love. it's the same message over and over. it's funny how one may think seeing more may lead to confusion or overload of information (ie reading an entire book) but in this case (and probably more) it is simpler.
anyway... on a lighter note, i'm debating on getting an ipod. i was almost ready to jump in my car today and drive down to best buy... what do you think? some think it is an investment...
hehe... i'm going to read now! be blessed.
