not just for me, but my hope for YOU.
finnicky
so sad. i just wrote a long post about what has been going on in my life lately; my internet was disconnected and poof just like that it was gone... let me see if i can remember any of my thoughts...
the bottom line is that i'm tired of living in unbelief. of walking in alignment with lies, agreeing with the enemy. i'm tired of siding with him rather than with my almighty King of Kings. as i draw into further intimacy with Jesus, i feel like he is calling me into an entire new way of thinking. of course he's always transforming our mind - but this time, i feel like i am aware of it. (i think this is a good thing)...
lately, i've noticed how often i believe the lies of the enemy. man, i am tired of how these lies are directing the way that i live. the way i respond to situations. my outlook on the future... whether it is an expectation of rejection, hopelessness, the way i have always expect disappointment, a fear of disapproval, fear of what YOU think of me... it's GOT to be GONE.
but how do i get to this point of hope? of confidence in who Jesus is - of security in who I am - for i cannot will myself to walk in righteousness - i cannot will myself to be full of compassion - i cannot will myself to always believe and have hope - i cannot will myself to be perfectly patient - i cannot will myself to view myself with humility...
and so we get to the point... a transformation of the mind. a renewal. replace the lies with the truth. (easier said than done, right) but the truth cannot be mere words - for it must be digested/meditated upon to become useful... i have learned that it is only when this truth becomes "spiritual nutrients" am i able to do/think/believe anything. (think of how long you've believed the lies - and how natural it comes to side with them/allow them to direct your life)
when are we going to stop agreeing with satan that our significance is miniscule, or that Jesus doesn't have the power to free our families, or that he won't ever restore the church as his bride... or that he doesn't have good things in store for us -
do you realize that the power of these nutrients is infinite? stop for a moment and think, "what if i am really empowered by these nutrients? what i believe"
i know that this truth, this reality - Yes it's possible - for it's what he promised - what he commanded us to walk in (no not by our selves - but by his Spirit) - this reality - is hard to grasp... it is a BEAUTIFUL confidence that is ours in Christ. for me this understanding of living in truth, walking by faith in Jesus' perfect grace for all our moments - now and in the future - is fleeting - it often seems like a patch of blue sky among the clouds, or like trying to catch a butterfly - and it flitters from your fingers... but let it be for what we aim.
i'm tired of living in a desert. of living fruitless, of unnecessary withering, and not running into the unmerited favor that Jesus has for me...
are you?
how do we get there? we must first know the truth. and where's that found? the Word. the truth about who Jesus IS/what he can do, and all of his promises - the truth about who we are.
